Franklin & Marshall College, often referred to as simply F&M, is a four-year private co-educational residential national liberal arts college in Lancaster, which is a city in the US state of Pennsylvania, serving as the county seat of Lancaster County, with more than 55 300 people, living within its limits, which makes it the eighth largest city in the state.
The college was established in 1787 and it is US's 25th-oldest institution for higher education and the 17th-oldest college. It offers its students majors, minors and other programs, in nearly 60 areas of study, including in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Greek, Pre-Law and Pre-Med (Health Professions Advisory Program).
F&M's athletic teams are known as the Diplomats and they compete in NCAA Division III, Centennial Conference, for all 27 varsity sports except wrestling, which is Division I, and men's and women's squash, which are nondivisional.
